Cycle Canada, Day 25, May 29/06

May 29/06, Monday                                               Day 25                               2278 Km's
Home of Chris & Suzanne, Winnigeg, Man.                                                     104 Km's                                ~ 4:50 Hrs
Easy riding down Highway 26 from Portage la Prairie. A nice drive if you have the time and don't mind rougher, empty roads. Rather like Highway #7 out Deroche way.
Stopped in Poplar Point in an attempt to find breakfast. The only things in town were a post office and senior's centre. We stopped at the centre, because there were cars, on the pretense of asking directions but really to beg for coffee. There were four old ladies and a middle aged one working on writing a history of the area. They fed us coffee and we had a chat and a laugh for an hour or so. Very pleasant. We might wind up in their book. Names taken.
Unfortunately we couldn't find an eating establishment anywhere until we hit Winnipeg. Once in town we headed for Chris & Suzanne's and ate ravenously.
Chris & Suzanne seem to be good folk, younger that I thought. Suzanne is about 8 1/2 months pregnant and still in a good mood about it.
Doug had trouble contacting Chris earlier so Kerri The Kiwi set us up with some friends of hers: The Taylor's. Tomorrow I'll let them know we're not coming.
