Meeting buddy and his mom at the McCauly Motel restaurant in the morning. - at the motel we met a young fellow, early 20's, who was kayaking west along the shore of Lake Superior. His mother was following him in her car. An interesting idea and I suppose it would be safer than doing the whole trip by yourself but there would still be places where you would be out of sight of the road for 6 or 8 hours at a time.

Grabbing the motel so we could watch the hockey play-offs.

Thessalon is a nice spot with a dieing town - too bad. It's really beautiful.
